What You’re Walking Into
Rideau Carleton Casino sits at 4837 Albion Road on Ottawa’s south side. Within city limits, we are the only casino running a full floor of slots and live tables, so for players who want to stay on the Ontario side of the river, this is where they usually end up. Doors never close - we run 24 hours a day, every day, including holidays.
The gaming floor is large enough to feel like a self-contained complex rather than a small corner property. We host over 1,500 slot machines, spread across different denominations and formats. Machines are grouped by theme and bet level, so once you know your comfort zone, you can usually find a section that matches it without walking the whole floor.
Electronic table games run alongside the slots. They mimic the rules and payouts of live tables, but everything is handled through touchscreens and automated dealing. A lot of guests use them as a bridge: table rules, yes, but without the pace and pressure of a live pit.

The mix on the pit and table minimums shifts through the day. Peak nights will look different from a weekday morning. Before you sit down, checking with a floor supervisor is the fastest way to know what is open and what the current limits are.

Our VIP High Limit salons are set apart from the main floor. Access runs through the pit team or a floor manager, so you simply ask at the floor desk and they will walk you through the process. Buy-ins and betting limits there differ from the main pit. Staff at the cage or at the salon entrance will confirm what applies at that moment.
Getting Around on Your First Visit
The entire casino operates on a single level, so once you are inside, you are not dealing with elevators or multiple towers. For a first-time visit, the flow usually looks something like this:
- Come in from the main Albion Road entrance. The guest services desk is near the front doors.
- Have valid government-issued photo ID ready. Guests who appear close to the legal age may be asked for a second piece of ID.
- Minimum age for all Ontario casino gaming areas is 19. There are no exceptions to that rule on our floor.
- If you want a quick overview, pick up a floor map at guest services or ask any floor attendant to point you toward the section you have in mind.
- For slots, follow the signage into the main floor area. Machines are grouped by denomination, so it is easier to anchor by stake size first.
- For live tables, walk over to the pit section. A floor supervisor will tell you which games are running, what the minimums are, and where there is seating.
- To access the VIP High Limit salon, speak with a floor manager. They will show you which entrance is currently in use.
- For live table play, exchange cash for chips at the cage before you take a seat.
We do not require pre-registration to enter the general gaming floor. Walk-ins are fine at any hour, which is one practical advantage of operating 24/7.
One small piece of advice that applies anywhere, not only at our property: decide on a spend limit before you step onto the floor. It is much easier to stick to that number when you have made the decision away from the tables and machines.
The Hard Rock Transition
Rideau Carleton Casino is in the middle of a major long-term change into Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Ottawa. The repositioning is marketed as Canada’s first Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. Hard Rock International, part of the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s portfolio, signed a partnership with the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) to operate and redevelop the site. If you walk through the property now, you will notice both Rideau Carleton and Hard Rock branding on signage, screens and promotional material.
Under the Hard Rock plans, the site will add around 150 hotel rooms, grow the gaming floor footprint, and introduce a Hard Rock Live entertainment venue. Construction is phased so we can keep the casino floor running throughout. For guests, this means you might see work areas or temporary walls, but access to gaming and the main amenities continues as normal.

Rideau Carleton Raceway sat on this land long before slots arrived. Harness racing operations wrapped up in March 2026. Ontario Racing and Hard Rock finalized an agreement to end the program after we concluded that continued racing was not financially sustainable, even with earlier infrastructure work. That track area is now being folded into the overall resort redevelopment plan.
